Frequently Asked Questions

I am currently offering tele-services only. I operate on SimplePractice, which is a HIPAA compliant platform.

I am licensed in Pennsylvania (License ID: CW024908) & Oregon (License ID: L16300). My NPI number is 1679310130.

No! Outside of scope of practice for therapy, I am able to meet with you anywhere in the world, please feel free to reach out for other services if you live outside those two states.

I offer 15-min, free consultations so you can ask any questions you might have and share a little about your goals in working with me. You can expect me to clarify a bit about how I practice, determine which of my service offerings might be a good fit for you, and clarify how we will move forward.

Part of why I started Balancing Perspectives Practice is to enhance access to quality collaborative care.  Insurance systems have shown themselves to be out for their own gain over supporting the well-being of their “customers.” For this, and other reasons, I have committed to offering care outside the bounds of insurance.

Therapy outside of insurance has been shown to offer a higher quality of care, more confidentiality & privacy, more flexibility & freedom, a more personalized and holistic approach to care, and fewer limitations.

In other words, you get the care that you deserve, not only what insurance is willing to cover,

Out-of-network benefits are included with some* insurance plans so that you can engage with providers outside of your insurance plans network.

The process works by paying the fee for care out of pocket, receiving a superbill from me, submitting this superbill to your insurance, which, once approved means you will receive a reimbursement for whatever percentage your insurance covers for out-of-network care.

*Call your insurance provider to find out if you have out-of-network benefits and, if you do, how to submit your superbill to track your claim for reimbursement.

I am happy to answer any questions and support you in figuring out the process to submit for out-of-network benefits.

A superbill is a detailed invoice that provides a comprehensive list of services provided to be submitted to your insurance payer for out-of-pocket reimbursement. Often the invoice includes dates, length of sessions, and a billing code for therapy alongside my NPI number and contact information.

Please feel free to contact your insurance to find out exactly what they require in a superbill to avoid any issues with the reimbursement process.
